Service

Professors are expected to be excellent teachers and also successful researchers. But they are also expected to provide a fair amount of service to academia, to their profession and to the community at large.
Dr. Supernak believes that service is an important responsibility. The following sub-pages summarize his involvement in several activities that represent various aspects of service to the three constituent groups: academia, professional circles, and the society at large.
As Department Chair for 18 years, Dr. Supernak was responsible for coordinating preparations for three consecutive
accreditation reviews by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). This is always a very demanding activity. The attached photo shows the materials prepared for the ABET review in 2009 for three programs: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Construction Engineering.
