Advising
Advising is guiding, sharing experience, encouraging, and finding solutions in difficult situations. Dr. Supernak has had a privilege to be involved not only in the "regular" undergraduate and graduate advising but also in advising - during the last 20 years - a large student chapter of a major professional society: the American Society of Civil Engineers. Recently, he also assumed similar responsibility of Faculty Advisor for the Student Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
Another - demanding yet very rewarding - advising experience has been Dr. Supernak's involvement in the Study Abroad Program in Krakow, Poland. It starts with the tedious recruiting process. While in Krakow, the interactions with students are not limited to the class time. They expand to any joint activity: answering questions about the course, playing table tennis, sightseeing or just having a great party.
The subsequent sub-pages summarize Dr. Supernak advising activities.
